The first deployment that has been carried out for P4 by Wind Mobile is implementation of value added service Ringback Tone, so called "Music for waiting". Ringback Tone service consists in replacing traditional ringback tone by the fragment of a song or a well-known melody selected by the customer. The song is played to persons calling Play’s subscribers until the connection is established.
Wind Mobile has supplied the complete telecommunications platform facilitating realization of the service and integrated it with other systems of Play, including an independent media provider, and has also provided a full set of administration tools allowing the user real-time monitoring of the platform operation.
We have experience in implementing Ringback Tone platform, so it is the time for other projects using Falcon platform - the flagship platform developed by Wind Mobile for telecommunications operators – says Tomasz Gniewek, Technical Manager of Wind Mobile Through application of innovative technologies, experience and hard work of the entire team of Wind Mobile, new services have been successfully activated and integrated with the network of Play GSM operator. The Ringback Tone system has been implemented in record time. It is the first and at the same time very successful implementation of Falcon platform on the basis of SIGTRAN technology (SS7 over IP network), which makes that project even more unique and proves the platform’s readiness for adaptation of new signalling technologies. We find positive opinions of our customers after completed implementations to be our greatest success making us really proud. – adds Tomasz Gniewek.
In March, Wind Mobile has successfully completed implementation of Pharos Avantgard USSD Gateway platform (Unstructured Supplementary Services Data). The platform enables the subscribers real-time interaction with various applications (for example, with those servicing micro payments or querying about current balance of pre-paid account). In comparison to SMS-based interaction, these services are realized directly through GSM network elements, thus they facilitate integration with existing operator’s systems and provide better possibilities to create new applications.
In its current shape, the USSD platform is used, among others, for sending access passwords and managing subscriber’s account through the SelfCare portal. Its flexibility facilitates addition of new services
