KRAKOW, May 15, 2008 - The value-added service delivery platform - Falcon Custom Ringback Tones - enables NOVA’s subscribers to replace a traditional ‘beep’ tone, heard by those who call them, with personally selected – or even personally created – songs and sound effects.
The new service fits well into NOVA’s positioning as a provider of innovative services and allows the operator to differentiate from competitors as being the first operator to introduce Ringback Tones in Iceland.
Custom ringback tones (also called color ringback tones) are one of the most popular value-added services and their popularity is quickly rising. It is estimated that 40 million global users will have subscribed to ringback tones by the end of 2010.
NOVA was able to play the first ringback in 3 months after the project kick-off. Within following 2 months the system was being tuned according to the operators requirements. The solution at Nova is deployed in VMware environment on a HP-Blade center infrastructure.
